    1. Current Employee, more than 1 year

      Pros

      - I've been part of a lovely team, everyone works together so well and management are really supportive - Perks include a free pair of shoes per season as uniform, as well as random incentives that can range from bonus pay to other treats - The level of PPE in place has made me comfortable to work here, even throughout the pandemic - Thorough training is given, ensuring that when you do your first sales by yourself, you're as confident as the manager that you can deliver the high standard of service associated with the company - There's always something to do. There's nothing worse when you have a job that leaves you with 3 hours of your shift left, no cleaning or other jobs to do, and no customers, but thankfully I've found that even in the quietest moments of a dead day, there's always a task or two to do that is actually helpful, and doesn't feel as though it's being done purely to do something.

      Cons

      - The only con I can think of is subjective in how bad it is, but sometimes the rota is changed at the last minute or you may receive a message asking you to do another shift/come in early or stay in late, only a day or two before your shift. More often than not it's to offer you more hours, so if you're particularly busy it can feel as though you're not pulling your weight for the team, but equally everyone understands and if you're not busy then extra hours means extra pay!

      Pros

Free uniform shoes 4x a year Good discounts

      Cons

Long hours Minimal incentives and staff benefits Kids Shoe Fittings

    4. Former Employee, more than 5 years

      Pros

      Your own team, uniform discount

      Cons

Lack of career opportunities after they got rid of whole training and development department, HQ will blame stores for sales after bad commercial decisions on the top, Unrealistic targets given by AM and I mean it - they will give you random figure because "that's what I want", Poor morality in higher management, they think stores are using covid as an excuse to not deliver targets

    5. Pros

      - Flexible part time hours, very understanding and accommodating of college/university commitments. - They invest time and training in you as an employee, even if you're only working part time and as a first job. - Friendly team and approachable management. - No uniform and a fairly relaxed dress policy.

      Cons

      - As with any other retail job, there can be lots of difficult and rude customers. -

      Pros

Training Uniform Provided Flexible hours benefits retirement plan

      Cons

Evolution very limited Big salary gap contrats

    7. Current Employee, more than 3 years

      Pros

33% discount off twenty pairs a year if you're contracted 8+hrs a week. Four free pairs a year as staff uniform. Hours flexible around my childcare needs and all training provided

      Cons

Sales and back to school are really busy, lots of new staff to cover the summer who usually don't care to much as it is a temp summer job, so you usually work more hours or end up helping train them as well. Usual retail targets expected every week

      Pros

A bit more mentally stimulating than a supermarket job Flexible Uniform

      Cons

The targets didn't take into consideration online purchases, which were increasing, which meant that the bonuses through leap rarely happened. This wasn't always the case but near the end of my time there it was.

    9. Former Employee, more than 1 year

      Pros

      No Uniform. That is all.

      Cons

Everything else. Esp. having to arrive 10 minutes early for brief without getting paid for it.

    10. Former Contractor, less than 1 year

      Pros

Flexible uniform, challenging work environment and opportunity to get a free pair of Clark shoes

      Cons

I worked as a sales assistant with no training at all besides health and safety. Extremely target driven. During my time at Clarks I was required to meet unrealistic targets even on slow days. The dishonest sales team would claim my sales as their own at the till and then lecture me on not making enough sales in front of customers it was a nightmare. The goal is to make a sale at all costs and it does not matter who you have to take down to get ahead a very negative work environment.
